Channel Combination Rack
84 channels of 1500 watt D125dx digital dimming, 30 channels of
2500 watt D625dx digital dimming, and 6 channels of 6000 watts
D360dx digital dimming incorporated in a steel installation rack
enclosure fed by user specified multiple (5!) feed mains lugs
inputs, something that could not have been accomplished by other

Double
wide install rack, 60 X 2.5K
Residing in the Georgia
Pacific Television Studios in Atlanta, GA this 60x2.5K dx rack
with Electrols' exclusive hot patching to 192 circuits install
experiences the absolute worst EM/RFI (electro-magnetic radio
frequency interference) environment ever encountered. So bad is it
that television monitors must have additional shielding to even
work properly. Or even work at all for that matter! The dimming
rack, however, performs flawlessly. Maintained by Lighting and
Production Equipment of Atlanta, GA. |

Constructed for top feed in and out per client request. Vented,
locking front door included to restrict the inquisitive from
accessing Electrol's comprehensive standard dimmer functions such as
soft patch, dimmer curve, non-dim assignment and output voltage
limiting. Lovingly dubbed "The Area 51 Rack" due to its
installation at Roswell (GA) Cultural Arts Center. Future sightings
will be reported. Maintained by Rubicon Pictures of Atlanta, GA.

This 48 X 3K (220VAC
Delta) system has been comfortably toiling aboard the Holland Cruise
Lines ship MS Rotterdam for many years now. By far, most cruise ship
installations inevitably meet with some difficulties due to wild
variations in the quality of on-board ship power. Yet, because of
the design efforts of Electrol Engineering and the wonderful on-site
personnel of Zsiba Smolover of New Milford, CT, the installation
went through without a hitch. Because the dimmer rack was wired
directly to the main turbines on the ship, the electrical feed
consisted only of three 220 VAC hot legs and a ships'-hull
"ground" to power the system. For safety reasons, this
dictated the need for double pole circuit breakers on every dimmer
channel output as seen in this photo. To make engineering matters
even more interesting, the resting place chosen for cabinet was
partially exposed to the vagaries of the Atlantic Oceanographic
climatic system; hence the pleasingly blue weather-resistant
installation rack. Unfortunately, no service calls have been needed.

X 1.5K fuzzy touring rack w/ stagepin output
Since taking residence in the Lyric
West Theatre Company on the Massachusetts Bay Community College
campus, this installation (what can we say, it’s what they
wanted...) immediately became the source of much controversy between
the union electricians and school officials over what defines
"temporary wiring". The school wanted easily to move the
rack to their proposed new space, and use the dimmers for their
black-box theatre when needed (hence the touring rack request).
After only minor bloodshed and an amazing amount of conduit run in
the 36 hour period before opening night, an agreement was come to
for the theatre workers to strike their cabling after every
performance.

X 1.5K w/ 6 X 2.5K Touring System
Patchable multi's out, shock mount
ATA case (something no other manufacturer can produce in this
configuration) constructed for the increased touring schedule for
both The Promise Keepers organization and various projects with The
Artist (it's an odd combo, we know...) The typical application for
this system was required to be: load every channel to the maximum
during the heat of the day, bring everything to full and walk away.
Only due to Electrol dimmers' extreme capacity for dealing with
thermal overloads could this requirement be met. System tortured by
Backstage Productions of Minneapolis, MN.

Series 225 Modular Cabinets are designed
for easy installation of your dimming system. These rugged cabinets
feature the unique Monocoque construction and are made with
integrally welded square tubular steel frame for maximum strength
and stability. Designed for standard 19" EIA rack
specifications, the 225 series offers an economical approach to rack
mounted equipment in installations. Uneven floor surfaces are
eliminated as a problem with leg levelers which come as a standard
hardware accessory. Mounting rails of 11 gauge steel with tapped
10-32 mounting holes provide a secure mounting system. Rear of
bottom frame has panel with combination KO’s for conduit. Panel is
also removable for direct routing of cable into cabinet interior.
Optionally, an open bottom allows cabinet to be placed over decking
conduit. Frame is black textured with black panels. All paint is
electrostatically applied for maximum adhesion and scratch
resistivity. Optional casters are available.

(XX= panel space in ", max. 64.25")
Dim: 20.6875" W x XX" H x 20.75" D

Series 621 Sectional wall cabinets have
a deeper center section (16.25") allowing for easier mains and
load wiring where floor space is not available or desirable. The
removable rear section mounts to the wall for field wiring. The
center section and door will have equipment pre-mounted at Electrol
to be easily re-attached on site. Designed for standard 19" EIA
specifications, the 621 series offers an economical approach to rack
mounted installations where space is limited. Security and strength
is assured through the use of threaded rods between the center and
rear sections and an attractive black oxide lock between (optional)
front door and center section. Paint finish is semi-gloss enamel
electrostatically applied for maximum adhesion and scratch
resistivity.

ATA Style Trouping Racks
Part #: TRXXATA
(XX= panel space in rack units)

Our ATA cases do more than what is
demanded by the Airline Transportation Association in its’
Specification 300, Category 1 standards, which ensure that cases
will survive the rigors of 100 round trip shipment by air or common
carrier. Our cases are built from low-void ½" high grade
plywood, exceeding these standards. We use tough exterior laminates,
such as ABS plastic and exclusive aluminum corner and tongue and
groove extrusions. The finest heavy duty hardware fastened with
steel rivets and washer backed at key stress points makes these
cases though to beat.

Plywood:
ATA series cases begin with select cross laminated, exterior grade
plywood. Only the finest hardwoods with a low incidence of knots and
voids are chosen. All plywood is sampled and inspected at the dock
to ensure it meets our high standards. 3/4" cabinet grade birch
is used exclusively as caster board material.

Hardware:
All hardware is strictly the finest to suit any application.
Positive locking recessed latches and handles are complimented by
heavy gauge corner clamps and ball corners for all cases. All
hardware is washer backed at key stress points. A wide variety of
hardware options such as locks, stacking hardware, casters, valance
spanning latches and much more are available.

Laminates:
You may select from our standard laminates of ABS plastic in red,
white, blue, black, silver, green, orange and yellow. There are a
variety of options for an additional charge, including aluminum in
mill finish with stucco texture: and Formica and other similar
plastic laminates. Our fully automated laminating line features an
advanced, moisture-cure urethane adhesive applied as a foam to
maximize coverage. This low-solvent process resists reactivation
under heat. Humidity is strictly controlled during the adhesive
application. The laminated plywood is then placed in a high-pressure
press for at least 24 hours. The process results in a bond without
peer in the industry.

Extrusions:
Our exclusive extrusions feature a specialized alloy which has been
field tested for strength and durability. The 6063 alloy is a blend
of manganese for strength, copper for heat conduction and silicon
for corrosion resistance. The resulting alloy is tempered to T5
hardness, the maximum strength which still permits bending and
stapling. Our corner extrusions which accommodate ½" plywood,
feature an impressive .090" wall thickness for superior
durability. Wide channel tongue and groove valance ensure that case
integrity will not be compromised, even in the most abusive
environment.
